SUMNER DECA

Who is Sumner DECA?

Students who are currently enrolled at Sumner High School may join Sumner DECA.  While some chapters require DECA membership as part of their business curriculum, Sumner DECA is strictly voluntary. We believe that those students who truly want to participate and join by choice will have a more meaningful experience, be dedicated to learning and taking advantage of the opportunities that membership provides.

We are a member chapter of Washington DECA and are governed by their leadership. We are part of Area 7 which includes Pierce, Kitsap, Jefferson and Clallam counties. It is at the Area level that competition begins.

Fundraising

The 2018-19 school year starts with an initial fundraiser partnering with the Sumner Spartan Football Boosters. Coach Ross approached DECA last year and asked us to produce this year's football program. This project is coming to completion and will give the SHS DECA chapter some funds to kick off the year.
